Duke Keaton paid a quiet and personal tribute to his late mother, Hollywood legend Diane Keaton, as he stepped out for the first time following her sudden death over the weekend.
Diane Keaton’s 25-year-old son, Duke, was seen for the first time since the actress’s death. He was photographed on October 12, 2025, Sunday, as he left her Los Angeles home, just one day after she passed away.
Dressed head to toe in black, Duke appeared somber as he mourned the loss of the Oscar-winning actress, who adopted him as a baby in 2001.

In a subtle but heartfelt tribute, Duke wore two cross necklaces — a signature accessory his mother was often seen wearing. Keaton was known for her bold and quirky fashion sense, which frequently included layers of jewelry and her trademark wide-brimmed hats.
The late actress, 79, adopted Duke when she was 55. She had earlier adopted her daughter, Dexter, in 1996 at age 50.
Keaton died Saturday morning, October 11, 2025, at her Los Angeles home. Emergency crews responded to the residence, and she was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital around 8:08 a.m. The cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

Photos of Duke outside the home quickly circulated online, prompting a wave of emotional support from fans.
“I’m so sorry for your loss Duke,” one fan commented. “This made me cry!” another wrote. “I see pain in his eyes… Y’all leave this young man alone. He just lost his momma!!!” a third person commented.
“The guy is in shock — you expect him to be in a suit looking slick? His mom just passed… and the random photographer outside, like is he supposed to wave?” another supporter wrote.
Family, friends, and fans continue to mourn her passing as tributes pour in from across the entertainment world. Following Diane’s death, her family has made a single, heartfelt request.
Her Family Made Only One Request After Her Passing

Her family has not yet released a full statement on her passing, but has made one heartfelt request to the public: privacy.
“There are no further details available at this time, and her family has asked for privacy in this moment of great sadness,” said a spokesperson.
Keaton Found Her Place Through Acting
She was best known for her roles in Annie Hall, Father of the Bride, The First Wives Club, Something’s Gotta Give, and The Godfather.
It was through acting that Keaton found a sense of belonging. “Without acting, I would have been a misfit,” she told PEOPLE in 2019.

She saw herself as an oddball, knowing early on that she didn’t want to get married. Instead, she dedicated her life to her craft, collaborating with Woody Allen several times before ultimately winning an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in Annie Hall.
Beyond her remarkable film career, Keaton was admired for her wit, authenticity, and timeless sense of style. Her signature look — tailored suits, bowler hats, and turtlenecks — became an extension of her fearless individuality, inspiring generations of women to embrace their quirks unapologetically.
